Club Wyndham resales: points and benefit restrictions
Club Wyndham distinguishes developer points from points acquired through a third-party resale contract. Compare the actual ownership and reservation rights, then check which advertised benefits apply to resale points rather than assuming the seller’s status will transfer.
Keep developer and resale benefits separate
- Identify the exact Club Wyndham product and current points allocation.
- Ask how the resale contract is classified in the Benefits Summary.
- Check the current restrictions for VIP benefits, Club Pass, conversions and PlusPartners.
- For existing owners, ask which contract’s points are eligible for a proposed benefit.
Resale points are not developer points
Club Wyndham’s official guide explains that third-party resale contracts are distinct from developer points. It identifies VIP benefits, Club Pass, Wyndham Rewards conversion and PlusPartners as benefits not available to resale points, subject to the current program terms.
Check practical use
Confirm the home resort or collection, points allocation, use year, booking priorities and current balances. Ask the administrator to explain eligibility for the exact resale contract instead of relying on the seller’s current status.
Confirm charges and transfers
Request the current maintenance/assessment bill, club or program charges and itemized transfer/closing costs. A price-per-point figure does not establish annual cost or value across different products.
For existing owners
Ask how a resale contract will appear in your account and which benefits apply to its points. Do not assume all points become interchangeable for every benefit.
A useful follow-up question
Will adding resale points make every point eligible for the same benefits?
Do not assume that. Wyndham’s published comparison distinguishes the source of the points. Request an answer for your existing and proposed contracts, including any new enrollment or purchase condition being offered.
