Ownership and exchanges
Timeshare exchange options: membership, fees and limits
Compare timeshare exchange programs by the ownership they accept, the use you must commit and the actual trip available. An exchange affiliation expands a set of possibilities; it does not reserve a destination, date or accommodation.
Ask the same questions of each provider
- Eligibility: will this exact resale interest qualify for the proposed service?
- Commitment: what points, week or deposit leaves your control, and when?
- Cost: what membership, exchange and stay-specific charges apply?
- Changes: what cancellation, expiry or guest-use conditions govern the offer?
Identify the eligible program
Confirm your ownership’s affiliation and whether the benefit transfers to a resale buyer. Club points, exchange points and deposit values may use different units.
Compare the complete terms
Check deposit deadlines, expiry, request/confirmation methods, cancellation and guest-use rules. Include all applicable membership, exchange and destination charges in the budget.
Use the official provider
RCI and Interval International are linked below with valid HTTPS destinations. Other providers may offer different products; independently confirm current eligibility before paying or depositing usage.
A useful follow-up question
Should I choose a resale mainly for exchange potential?
Check the specific eligibility and realistic reservation options first. A large exchange directory is not evidence that your intended trip can be confirmed. Also decide whether you would be comfortable using the underlying ownership if the desired exchange is unavailable.
