Ownership and exchanges
Using your ownership: ask the right program questions
Before using points or a week, check the governing program, use year and reservation rules. Similar terms such as banking, borrowing or exchange can mean different things across Hilton, Marriott, Bluegreen, Disney and other ownership products.
Write a reservation question the program can answer
- State the club and use year, then identify the balance you intend to use.
- Give the desired resort, accommodation and travel dates.
- Ask which booking window, deadline or minimum-stay condition applies.
- Check expiry, cancellation and guest-use terms before committing usage.
Before making a reservation
- Confirm the available use year and which points/weeks can be used.
- Check home-resort priorities and the relevant booking window.
- Ask about minimum stays, cancellation rules and charges.
- Confirm whether banked, borrowed or exchanged usage has additional restrictions.
Before changing or transferring ownership
Ask the program which benefits continue, what current or existing reservations are affected and whether account combinations are possible. Get a written answer for the specific ownerships involved.
Start with the right brand guide
The related guides below help organize questions; they do not replace your program’s current rules. If a deadline or reservation is urgent, contact the program directly rather than waiting for a general resale inquiry response.
A useful follow-up question
Can I apply another club’s banking deadline to my ownership?
No. Use the current rules for the particular product and balance. If a deadline or reservation is urgent, contact that program directly; a general resale inquiry is not a substitute for timely reservation instructions.
